It's a weird thing. Something I have never experienced before. Normally, you run a race, go home and that's it. You don't get to know other participants, you are all in your own small running world. Let alone that you know who is organizing the race.
For the West Highland Way race everything is different.
Today, one year ago, Dario passed away. Dario is the founder of the West Highland Way race and seen as the father of the West Highland Way Race -family.

We are back at the Mc Neills. Norman and his dad got the whole support crew back safely!
I am feeling good, only having problems with my left shin preventing me from walking... More info later during the day.
I just received a phonecall from A.N. Jeroen is doing alright in his last part. He'll probably finish between 12 and 1, so only 2-3 hours to go. B.E.N. shared his plate of pasta with his lovely dad. Now Jeroen can run again for hours!
I received a message from A.N. some minutes ago. Jeroen has another 14 miles to go. She keeps me posted. De laatste loodjes wegen het zwaarst we would say in Dutch! Good luck Jeroentje Pippeloentje!
Already for a couple of hours I haven't heard anything from Jeroen. He will be passed 100 km now I presume. Maybe he's out of signal with his mobile phone or having a hard time. I'm waiting at home for the next contact moment. So I'll keep you all posted.
